Remote control of RedNet mic preamps is built into v4 of popular console firmware

Yamaha have included mic preamp control for Focusrite RedNet 4 and RedNet MP8R in the latest version (v.4) of firmware for RIVAGE PM consoles.

The update brings powerful functionality to Yamaha's entire RIVAGE PM range, allowing users to control mic preamps remotely using SCP control, through the same Dante Audio-over-IP connection that's used to carry all the audio and routing information.

Commenting on the new functionality, Chris Angell of Yamaha R&D said, “we are committed to offering mix engineers a choice of input devices through collaboration with industry partners. We're delighted to be able to offer Focusrite RedNet control integration for the newly expanded RIVAGE PM family of consoles."

Similar functionality is already available on Yamaha's CL and QL consoles, enabling engineers to mix on the hugely popular Yamaha control surfaces, but choose the classic and much-loved Focusrite sound for their front end.
